Fishing

Carter has been begging to go fishing. I told Travis we had to take him since we had nothing else planned. I love seeing Carter get so excited about spending time with Travis, doing "boy things".  Tucker, he's always along for the ride!

I must say all these boy activities, secretly have me wanting a little girl to share things with. Sure, I like to fish, ride four wheelers, play in the mud but I don't think the boys will ever be on board to go for a pedicure with me, or shopping.  For now, I suppose I'll just continue to pray and see what God has in store for us and if it's not a little package of pink, I pray for wives for my boys that will love their ma-in-law!

For now, I'll be in the mud, on the back of the four wheeler, or hanging out by the pond if you need me.

A sister, a friend...

Last week I called Jessica on one of my off days and she just giggled at my whirlwind of a life, and then said she would be coming home for a visit soon.  Although she would never admit it, I think her thoughts were, "sis is losing it, I better go home for a few days to see if I can help her!"  Any mother can say they no where I was at that time, just one of those days of pure chaos and you just have to sit back and laugh at your own self.  Come on, I know I'm not the only one that has those days... fess up gals!

On Tuesday, I received a text from her that her e.t.a would be 4:25.  I was thrilled to know she was coming in town.  Granted she's only in Graceville a couple hours away, to know she'll be home with us is always a heart warming time.  I packed up the boys and we headed out to my moms to greet her and beg mom for some good 'ole southern cooking!  As always, mom cooked our favorite meal, tomatoes & rice, fried potatoes (home fries), bacon and pork chops!!  There is absolutely nothing like going home to momma's cooking!  Jessica & I both filled our tummies, would you expect anything less from the two of us?  :)

After dinner we visited with Big Granny & Big Papa and then packed up to come home.  Jessica came home with us, and Carter was beyond thrilled that he was having a guest!  Jessica was just excited to sleep in the most comfortable bed in our house, Carter's!  Carter on the other hand was going to sleep with her until he caught word that I had mentioned a pallet on the floor beside our bed.  He was all about sleeping in our room, even if it meant sleeping on the floor!

The next morning, we let Jess sleep and then bless her soul, she got a good taste of motherhood.  Not sure if I encouraged her or made her run in the complete opposite direction of the thought! :)  Just kidding, she'll be a wonderful mother one day.  Much more calm then her sister, and patience, well let's just say she has more then I do!

When I think back to my days as a child, I think of the many arguments I had with my 'little' sister and how most days (as I'm sure all siblings did at some point), wished her away.  Luckily God didn't grant those requests of mine!!  My sister is one of my best friends.  I can confide in her, laugh with her, cry with her, and always know that she is praying for me and my family. There is nothing like having a sister, it's a relationship like none other.  She has such a sweet, humble, spirit about her.  She is an inspiration to me!  I enjoy each time that I spend time with her and our many laughs that only we would understand.    We enjoyed our visit with you Aunt Jessica!  We hope to see you again really soon!!  Your company was greatly appreciated and you were more help then you probably know.  Come back soon, you are always welcome on Cow Bird Lane!!! We, I LOVE YOU!!!

I'm being stalked....

I'm sure if you visit my blog regularly you have noticed I've added a traffic feed on the right side. I added it just to see who was peeking in on us.  This one city continues to pop up day after day, hour after hour.  Seems to me that someone in Graceville, Florida is a tad bit obsessed with The Higginbothams and what's going on with us!  Being the detective that I can be sometimes, I've got to the bottom of this creepy case and figured out who the stalkers are.......

The Hannahs, a.k.a clowns! ;)  Let me explain, this lovely couple (better known to our family as Caca & Kyle, my sister & brother in law) live in a small town called Graceville.  From my understanding, not much goes on in this little town and when they have nothing better to do they stalk us!

I'm totally joking by this post, it doesn't bother me one bit in the world that these two are always hanging around.  Sweet couple, great personalities, fun to be around, and well quite frankly... I miss them.  I wish they weren't in Graceville, better known to us as Grace-vegas, that's an inside joke between the three of us, but the Lord has called Kyle into the ministry and for now Graceville is there home.  Will the return "home" one day or will the Lord send them elsewhere?  I'm not really sure but I want them to know that everyone here loves them and misses them.

You may remember me posting about our adventure to the fair, well I did not give credit where credit is due.  I am here now to say a great big Thank You to Kyle & Caca for their baby sitting services as well.  They keep Carter very entertained and Kyle is quite the trooper when it comes to Carter time. Carter climbs all over him, beats on him, follows him saying "play with me Kyle, play with me!!!", and Kyle gladly jumps right to it.  At the fair, Carter was begging with anyone that would listen to ride the rides with him.  Kyle & Caca both stepped up to the plate, thanks guys!!  Carter loves his Caca & Kyle very much. When I picked him up from school yesterday I told him we were going out to Nana's.  His first question, "where's Jessica & Kyle momma?"  I told them they were in Graceville at their house, and he couldn't understand why they would not be at moms.  (((HE LOVES YOU GUYS!!)))

So Hannahs, when you read this know that Callahan is missing you & can't wait for your next visit!  It's soon to be beach time, and you both know how much C loves the beach!!!  :)  Have a wonderful day in Grace-vegas, be safe.... I LOVE YOU!

xoxo,
Roo

P.S.  See Kyle, you get mentioned... I've not forgot you, I'm just the mother of two small children working with only 1/3 of the brain cells I used to have :)
