Never wake a sleeping bear

We've all heard that before, never wake a sleeping bear.  Well same goes for our little bear. He's still a nap kind of guy and for that I'm so thankful.  It means that for two hours a day the house is clean while he's napping and Carter's at school. So if you'd like to see my house during that time, come between 11-2.  Somedays nap time doesn't always happen when it should and by 4:30/5:00 in the afternoon our little Tucker turns into quite the sassy pants.

I decided that a late nap would just have to do this day. He still wasn't feeling 100% and the only place he was content was either in my arms or in our bed. So we snuggled down for a minute and when he drifted off, I snuck out to do some stuff around the house.  An hour or so went by and it was getting closer to 5 and I just knew if I let this nap go on it would make for a very sleepless night, for both of us.

I headed into our room to wake him.  He did not wake up on the right side of the bed for sure. I don't even know if the other side would have been a good start either.  He cried, and cried and made the most pitiful faces.  Most mothers would have picked up there unhappy toddler. I'm not your typical mother though. I'm the momma that likes to stick her camera in the unhappy toddlers face and capture those pitiful, yet oh so very cute faces.

Carter and I were getting quite the kick out of making him wail.  I know, sick isn't it.  But you can't honestly tell me these pictures don't make you chuckle at some point.  We always joke that he's going to retaliate one day and when he does, we're all in big trouble!

I won't put it past him to shave my head when I'm sleeping or sneak under the table and tie my shoelaces together when I'm not paying attention.  He'll get me back, I don't doubt that one bit.  Oh, and Carter... he's in for it just as much as I am.  We better invest in some helmets and defense armor! Just look at Carter's face... tell me he wasn't enjoying every minute!!

Yet again...

This was becoming the story of our lives.  Antibiotic... antibiotic... more antibiotics.  Poor Tucker and I could not catch a break regardless of how hard we tried. If it wasn't him, it was me. We had sinus gunk that I've never dealt with before.  I seriously started to contemplate stock in Kleenex. I actually did ask the pediatrician if we were becoming regulars, her answer... yes, you are.  Nice. You never want to be known as a "regular" at your pediatricians office or your primary care.  Trust me, I've worked there... you don't want that label.

However, after four rounds for each of us (I think that's where we both ended up) we are both well.  Tuck had severe allergy, sinus, upper respiratory problems and I had a severe case of bronchitis that lingered for weeks/months.  Since November we've been sick. I am so grateful to say we are both well, no sneezing, no coughing and praise the Lord there are NO antibiotics in this house.  :)  HOORAY!!!!

Ha, hee, achoo! ((& day 25 of 365))

There's been so much coughing, sneezing, sniffling in our house in the past four weeks I feel like I live in a doctors office. I truly do believe we have every cough, allergy, and fever medicine known to man. Tucker has been sick since the week of Christmas. Yesterday the doc diagnosed him with Bronchitis and an ear infection in his right ear. Carter has an upper respiratory infection and I have some kind of junk that I'm most likely making a visit to see the doc about either tomorrow or Thursday.  To top it all, Travis informs me last night that he's not feeling so hot.  My thought, let's just pack our bags head out for awhile and have our house decontaminated while we're gone. My tactics of killing germs is obviously not working.

Any mother can attest that I'm borderline about to go coo-coo-laroo! You know you've been there, don't try to be Super Woman. I can promise you, none of us are Super Woman!  This madness has to end soon. I blame it on cold weather, lack of hand washing, and all the germs of every other child that sits in the cart before us (or after us, we're too blame too), and the door handles we touch (after Mr. SoandSo or Mrs. Soandso didn't wash their hands).  I just dream of bright sunshine, warm weather, snot free days. Is that too much to ask?  I feel like I'm so behind with all the things I normally keep up. Laundry mounding, floors well, the floors look just horrific, the smell of Lysol and Clorox fill my home but I don't feel as if it's clean. The dust is two inches thick, and the playroom, oh sweet niblets, the playroom is a landfill.

If it sounds like I'm complaining, it's because I am. Remember that recent post about patience, and how the monkeys were driving me a bit coo-coo? Well, today I'm complaining because I'd love to hear that chaos instead of the moans of my helpless little 22 month old. Tucker's pitiful, Carter's pitiful, and I just want my babes to be better.  When I said I wanted calmness and quietness, I didn't mean in the form of sick, sick children. :(  Please Lord, make my babies better. Give them their spunk, the energy, their giggles back. I'll take the chaos over this sick mode any day.

Well, I'm wasting time sitting here. There are dishes soaking in bleach, floors awaiting their date with the mop, and bathrooms that are next inline for their daily dose of Clorox.  I hope I can update soon with my normal, "Chaos" posts.  It's where I'm most comfortable, GO FIGURE! ;)

Woo hoo!!! Go me! :)

So the Rayovac Summer photo contest I blogged about, I was one of the first 50 bloggers to blog about it and I won a $50 gift card to Wal-Mart!!  How cool is that? I was pretty excited as I never win anything.

We're keeping super busy around here. Normal summer activities have our schedule busy, busy but we wouldn't know what to do if we weren't busy now would we?  Nana will be joining me and the boys this coming Monday for a trip to visit my sister and brother in law in North Carolina. We are so excited to see them and have a short, mini vacation before heading into our first school year! Tucker and I have been under the weather the past few days but we're on the mend now and we'll be back to our same ole routine before we can blink.

I have pictures to post, but they're on the back burner for now... I just need to find my way back to the couch!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
