Introducing....

I would like you all to meet my friend Darcy, from Muddy Water Farm. She is a dear friend from high school that I've not seen in many, many years. She now resides in a small town in south Georgia. I posted on my Facebook Fanpage a few months back a challenge to my friends to start a blog of their own. Thus far I believe Darcy is the only one that took me up on that offer.

She messaged me this morning that she had started blogging. When I logged on to her link, my mouth fell open. It is beautiful, her song choices immediately made me think of her and the Darcy I remember. Her blog is warm, welcoming, and it has quickly climbed to the top of blogs I will check in with each day.

Take a few minutes and stop by to visit her. She's just starting out but I'm sure there are great things to come at Muddy Water Farms!

The boys...

I just love these little rascals.

He's spoiled rotten.

Tucker has everyone in this family wrapped around his little pinky fingers, and all the others for that matter. He loves to share Travis' strawberry soda. He is so excited when he sees the can. While I was planting flowers the other day he decided to help himself to the can. It went everywhere, but he didn't care. What he did get in his mouth, he enjoyed.

Of course then he found his way to the dirt where Carter was digging. Then he saw Travis with the water hose and we all know what happened next.

Welcome Spring!!!

Oh how I've missed the warm days of Spring. Having my windows open, the breeze blowing through, and the grass. Winter seemed so long, I must admit I was starting to become a bit saddened by the dreary, cold days. When the fields are covered in dead, brown grass it really makes you long for the bright colors of spring and summer.

I've missed getting out and playing in the yard with the boys, feeding the cows, or just swinging on the porch. Luckily, Spring is here and we're enjoying every minute of it. Being Floridians our Spring will soon turn to our hot, hot summers but that's okay. The time change also has me in a more chipper mood. I love staying outside later thanks to Mr. Sun staying in the sky longer. The boys are sleeping better, and longer (thank you Jesus). I just love Spring. It reminds me that each day is a fresh new start.
BLOG
With that fresh new start comes some new life to Cow Bird Lane. We have new calfs being born just about every day and that's just pure sweetness I can never get enough of.  Also, the grass is turning green, and we've started adding some color to the homestead. I bought some annuals to plant in these cute little water buckets that my mother in law gave me. They are old, antique watering pails. I just love them. They are heavy as all get out but they look perfect at my front door. Carter was so excited to help me. Granted as soon as he saw an empty bucket, he realized he could dig with he was gone and I was flying solo on my gardening adventure.  I'm hoping to do some more landscaping to spruce up the place. I don't have a green thumb at all. There's no shade of green in these two thumbs anywhere. I'm more in the brown/black department when it comes to thumbs.
BLOG
Speaking of gardening, Travis has plowed up our garden. Now we just have to find time to go to the store to buy seed and really get it going. I really enjoyed the garden last year. Watching Carter check on it daily and find new vegetables was so much fun. This year I'm sure will be the same. Hoping that we don't get so much rain that it sets us back like it did last year.
BLOG
This tree started out last May at 6" tall. It is now taller then I am.

I'm so glad that Spring has Sprung. There are sure to be lots of pictures of the boys playing outside, digging in the dirt, and all the other shannigans that go on around here. Hope you'll stop back by soon.

Dirt diggers

They love it.

I just wonder if I ever did have a girl, would she love it too???  By the way while styling Carter's hair earlier this week he says, "Momma, I love you." I love you too Carter. Then he looks at me with the most serious look and says, "when are you going to have a baby girl in your belly?" No time soon my love, no time soon! I'm really starting to think he has some sort of pregnancy E.S.P.  Hmmm....

Clip, clip, cut, cut.

The time has come for little Tucker to get his first haircut.  Little Bear was starting to look a little rough around the edges so I figured now was a good a time as ever.  I scheduled both of the boys to get a haircut on Monday. As the hour grew closer, I started getting butterflies in my stomach.  I don't know what my problem was but I just hated to see his hair get clipped.

Tucker first, he sat so still in my lap. Pam came close and then SNIP!  For a moment I thought my heart had stopped, there was no turning back now. I watched as each little piece of his baby hair fell into the envelope for this sentimental momma to keep.

I am so proud of him, he sat so still and we had no problems at all. He looks like such a little man. His hair is thicker, and it does look cute but I'm still a little torn. Odd thing is, by 13 months old with Carter he had already had 3 haircuts. Funny how you change.

So what do you think of Mr. Tucker with his new cut?

These thing are mmm, mmm, good!

Tucker eats just about anything you hand him. He loves broccoli, peas, meatloaf, seriously you name it he'll eat it. A few weekends back we had ribs for dinner and he had himself the greatest time gnawing the bone!!!  He has a love for food, LOL!!!!

Hello, is anyone there????

If any of you are still so graciously following this blog, bless you. My poor blog has been so neglected lately. It seems that once Spring starts to peak around these parts the days get busier, and my designated time to blog becomes non-existent.  I just wanted to let everyone know, I'm still here. I'm way behind with updates, and quite honestly I don't know when I'll get time to sit here and fill you all in on the craziness on Cow Bird Lane.

I did want to share this link with all of you. I know a lot of you are picture fanatics like myself and CavasPeople.com is giving away a free 8x10 of your choice. You do have to pay shipping and handling. I opted to go with a larger print, the 11x14 and my total came to $25. Worth it in my opinion. :)  Anywho, click on this link and order your print today.....   CavasPeople.com

Have a super day my friends!!! I'll be back soon, I hope! :)

The Snowman

We've all seen Smokey & The Bandit, right? If you haven't, I urge you today to rent it and watch it tonight. Carter loves that movie with all of his being. The other day he decided to skip preschool and go to the cow sale with Travis.
BLOG
He was so excited to get his Bandit pants on, and his Snowman jacket. My mom bought him this jacket for Christmas and Travis one to match. Well, since opening it Carter swears he is the Snowman from Smokey & The Bandit every time he wears it. It cracks me up!!!
BLOG
When he got himself dressed and I took a look at him, I just smiled. He's such a little heartbreaker at 4. I just know I'm going to have my hands full when he starts really liking the girls. I mentioned to him and Papa Cotton the other day that he was on his way to school to see his girlfriends. His response, "momma... I don't like the girls. I'm going to school to learn my bible verses!"  Keep it that way son, keep it that way!

That smile of his, and those eyes... get me every time!  ***the picture below... the bandaid is from his run in with our dog, Cowboy!***

Dirty boys, sweet as can be.

BLOG
Tucker is by all means on Carter's heels. He follows him everywhere he goes, and when he doesn't see him around all he says is "Bub..Bub...Bubba!" It's cute, cute, cute.  He tries to do everything Carter does. The other day Carter was playing in the dirt and Tucker wasn't going to calm down until I let him do the same thing. So, off he went. Travis was standing in the yard so I yelled watch him as I ran to grab my camera.

I'm so glad that I did. Little Bear found the darkest black dirt he could find in our yard and started having a blast!! He had it all over him. His face was smutty black, and we won't even talk about his nose. He giggled, and if we tried to stop him from eating a rock or piece of grass he would show us quite the attitude!

I snapped pictures and realized that having 'clean boys' is just a dream. I might as well embrace the dirt in my life and learn to enjoy it as much as they do! They were having the best time!!!  It's a blessing to see them playing together and already showing that brotherly bond. I will say though, I'm more then 100% certain that I will have my hands full when they get to be about 5 & 8.  Lord, help me.
BLOG
They were both very upset when we went inside. I was on a mission, and that mission was to clean these little monsters!

Time for a PARTY!!!!

BLOG
BLOG
Tucker's actual birthday, March 4, we had a little mini family party. I bought him a big cupcake with blue icing and he had an absolute blast. I bought one for Carter too, and well... he had just as much fun!  We had such a mess that we had to put both of them in the tub at the same time. There was blue icing everywhere. Their ears, their noses, their hair... you name it.

Then on Saturday we celebrated in true 1st birthday fashion and he had a wonderful time. The house was full of family and friends. I really enjoy having people over for parties and such. It's an instant, clear reminder of how blessed we are to have such great friends and family.

The party was a farm theme, did you expect anything less?!  We had cow printed balloons everywhere, and a cake with a farm scene on it. Tucker loved his hotdog, chips, and the cake!!  Carter enjoyed helping him blow out the candle, and opening all his gifts.

We gave him a Mickey Mouse ride-on toy, and he LOVES it!!!!  He pushes the button over and over so the propeller will turn. I didn't think he'd like it as much as he does. He has lots of new jammies and summer outfits.

I'm still a little in shock that he's already one, but.... that's okay. Each year that passes is another year full of blessings and one ahead that is full of adventure and excitement! He's such a busy little rascal I can only imagine what he'll get himself into next!
