Are you leading?

I was driving home yesterday afternoon, listening to our local Christian station, 88.1 ThePromise, when the d.j. says, "Children love to follow what their parents do.  Are you leading a life in which you would want them to follow your lead?" Whoa!! My friends, there is a very good question to ask ourselves as parents each and every day. 

I was talking to my sister about our dear Papa Joe who is battling cancer.  I was telling her about the life he has led, and how he is truly a man of God.  A man that I can talk proudly about to my sons when they are older.  A man that I know is a good influence, full of wisdom.  A man that I've never heard use a cross word with anyone.  A man that shares a smile, opens his home, just true sincerity is what you get from him.  I want to be that kind of person.  I want to know that when I'm old the people around me can say, 'she lived a life worth following'.  I want my children to say 'momma, was kind, honest, hard-working, polite, true'.  What better way to be viewed then in a good way?!  I often fail.  I lose my temper, I say things I shouldn't but I long to be the best I can be for my family, and for myself.

So I ask you today, are you leading a life in which you would want your children to follow?
