This morning I was a nervous wreck. Tucker woke up at 6:45 and to my surprise he had blood in his diaper. So, I immediately called the pediatrician (who was not as frantic as I was) and asked what to do. He advised me to make an appointment for today, I told him I'd be there when they opened.
I dropped Carter off at school, then headed to Wal-Mart to get a few things since I still had plenty of time before the pediatricians office opened. I had called back after talking to the doctor and left a message for the nurse to call me for an appointment a.s.a.p. She called at 8:20 and I explained our problem. She scheduled us an appointment for 11:15. I was relieved we were seeing the doctor that I really like, and that we would get to the bottom of this problem.
After waiting for over an hour, the doctor came in and after a brief examination diagnosed our sweet little Tucker bear with salmonella. Yes, you read that correctly... salmonella. I was floored. Unfortunately we can't do anything about it until we send a culture to the lab. We should hear back by Monday or Tuesday of next week. In the mean time I have to keep him hydrated, and watch for fever. Poor little guy. He acts fine, he's playing and laughing but I know his little tummy has to be hurting. Please keep him in your prayers, and pray that this all passes soon!
